A man manufactures an artificial limb at Mae Tao Clinic's lab, on December 20 of 2006, in Mae Sot area, Thailand. On 2004, the Clinic recorded 17 patients from land-mines. Now they even deliver the protheses to the land-mine victims' villages so they do not need to travel..Many of the people working in the Clinic arrived as patients, but then they learned the skills to treat patient and help in the clinic..The Mae Tao Clinic was founded on 1988 by Dr. Cynthia Maung and gives medical care for migrant and refugees, fleeing Burma, in the Mae Sot area, Thailand..Burma has since 1962 been ruled by dictator Burman Regimes. Pro democrats and minority ethnics have since been object of human rights abuses and armed minority groups has appeared, bringing a state of Civil War..This has forced Burmese people to flee their villages and on their arrival to Thailand many suffer from malnutrition, illnesses and injuries, amputations from land-mines or traumas. The Mae Tao Clinic supported by donors and volunteers provides with free health care and treatment to these people.
